Week 1: Unlocking Strengths & Alignment

Objective: Move past “I don’t know what I want to do” by identifying core strengths, values, and personality traits using structured framework tools.

  • In-Session (1 Hour): Deconstruct the student’s favorite subjects, hobbies, and hidden talents.
    • Introduction to the Ikigai framework (Reason for Being) tailored for young adults.
    • Addressing the “parental expectations vs. personal passion” dynamic in a constructive way.
  • Homework (The “Between Sessions” Catalyst):
    • The 360° Feedback Challenge: Ask 3 trusted people (a teacher, a peer, a family member) what they see as the student’s top 3 strengths.
    • Complete a curated, youth-focused personality/career alignment quiz.

Week 2: Market Exploration & Reality Testing

Objective: Filter the world of options (University, TAFE, Apprenticeships, Gap Years) down to a realistic “Top 3” shortlist.

  • In-Session (1 Hour):
    • Review homework insights to map out viable career paths.
    • Teach the student how to research industries, modern job market trends, and growth sectors in Australia.
    • Debunk common myths about certain degrees and career paths.
  • Homework (The “Between Sessions” Catalyst):
    • The Micro-Deep Dive: Pick 2 specific industries/degrees and find the exact entry requirements, course structures, or career trajectories.
    • Draft 3 questions they would ask someone currently working in that dream field.

Week 3: Crafting the Professional Identity

Objective: Build the tangible tools required to step into the adult world—elevating them above standard high school resumes.

  • In-Session (1 Hour):
    • Transforming school achievements, sports, part-time jobs, or volunteer work into a high-impact, professional Resume.
    • Building a clean, professional LinkedIn profile from scratch (a massive differentiator for school leavers).
    • Teaching networking basics: How to reach out to professionals for informational interviews.
  • Homework (The “Between Sessions” Catalyst):
    • Finalize the resume drafts based on session feedback.
    • Connect with 5 alumni or professionals in their target field on LinkedIn using a personalized script provided in class.

Week 4: The Roadmap & Interview Readiness

Objective: Build a concrete 6-month action plan and instil the confidence to ace upcoming interviews or university admissions conversations.

  • In-Session (1 Hour):
    • Interactive Roleplay: Mock interview practice (tailored to entry-level jobs, university scholarships, or cadetships) focusing on body language and communication.
    • Formulating the “Next Steps” Roadmap—a week-by-week timeline for the next 3–6 months.
    • Final Q&A with parents invited for the last 15 minutes to review the roadmap together.
  • Homework (The Final Blueprint):
    • Execute the first milestone on the 6-month roadmap (e.g., submitting an application, enrolling in a short course, or scheduling an informational coffee chat).
